What a Medium Can — and Can't — Tell You

Whether you're booking your first reading or learning to give them, the same questions hide underneath: Can they see my future? Will they tell me what to do? What if they're wrong? Here's the honest version, from someone who has sat on both sides of the table for over thirty years — and made most of the mistakes herself.

Can a medium predict my future?

Not the way people hope. Mia is clear about it: a spiritual medium is not a fortune teller, and the future is not written in stone. A reading can see what's in motion around you right now — but you could walk out of the room, get one phone call, and be a different person on a different path by dinner.

And there's a trap even good mediums fall into: your hopes and dreams sit right at the front of your energy, easy to read and easy to mistake for destiny. Mia learned it the hard way, years ago, telling a client she could see her travelling home to Thailand — and the woman quietly asked how, as a single mother raising her children on welfare, that was supposed to happen. Mia had read the woman's dream and served it back as a prediction. She's never forgotten it. It's why she now says she'd rather tell you too little than too much.

Will a medium tell me what to decide?

A responsible one won't — not about your marriage, your job, your house. Mia refuses outright, and her reasoning is worth hearing:

We're not here to tell people how to live their life. We're here to teach them how they can make their own decision.

Because what if she's wrong — and you rebuilt your life on it? She has met people still imprisoned years later by one sentence from one reading: told once that hardship was written over her life, one woman never dared to be fully happy again. That's the real danger of handing your power to a reading. Whatever you hear, your choices stay yours. Anyone who wants to make them for you has stopped serving you.

Will the person I'm grieving come through?

This is the question under all the others, and here Mia is at her most certain:

If you are in bereavement and you lost someone from the other side, they will always be there.

In thirty years it has never failed her. There's no waiting period and no expiry date on the bond — and they come through as themselves, the person you knew, so you can recognise them. What can vary is the medium's connection on the day. Which brings us to the next part.

What if the medium gets it wrong?

Sometimes they will. Mediums misread energy; they assume; they have off days — Mia says so openly about herself. A few honest rules of thumb she works and teaches by:

  • Take it with a pinch of salt. A reading is an experience offered to you, not a verdict over you. Keep what lands; let the rest go.
  • Watch how they handle a "no". A good medium goes back and looks again instead of arguing you into a yes.
  • Honesty over performance. If it isn't working, Mia stops after ten minutes and gives the money back. That's what respect for you looks like.
  • And remember her own warning, made with a smile: never trust the medium — find your own way. No single person has all the answers, including her.

So what is a reading actually for?

The thing almost nobody says out loud: the evidence is the doorway, not the point. When Mia was a struggling student, she had reading after reading full of beautiful compliments — and walked away empty, because, in her words, no one really saw her. What a good sitting gives you is simpler and rarer: you feel seen, heard and understood. The grief gets witnessed. The love gets confirmed. And you leave with your own power intact — steadier, lighter, and more able to make your own next move.

That's what a medium can give you. Everything else is theatre.
